Good Eventide!
Well it's been a fair while since I last blogged, a lot as happened!! Not particularly life changing to the human race but enough to keep me amused in life and keep me from desperately searching for things to keep me occupied like alphabetising dvds or colour co-ordinating twigs!!
I feel it's gonna take a while to write this blog tonight - not because of the interesting things i have to say but because I'm currently wearing a toning belt!! Have you ever tried one of these?? I bought it the other day - it's basically a belt you put round ur stomach and it electronically pulses making it contract. In lamens terms its a cheats way for toned stomach!! However - it feels like ur being attacked by the borrowers jabbing safety pins in your belly!! Gonna give it a couple of weeks and see what happens if I can stick out the pain!!
Roisin is not impressed with my cheating equipment as the conversation went:
Roisin - "Laura - Your face looks in pain, stop using it!"
Laura - "No, it's fine once you get used to it!"
Roisin - "Yes, thats what victims of domestic violence say!"
Now the reason I am with Roisin is because Me and Martin are currently crashing on the floor of the house due to house hunting being a bitch and we are now technically homeless!! So glad my hard work during my degree and post grad led to my amazing career and earned me this luxurious life!!
The flat we put an offer in fell through! I blame Martin as I think it's because he has chosen a career in which he wears leggings and dances around like a girl with other men and God frowns upon that - thus disliking us!!
So the flat hunting continued treating us to some of East Londons finest shit holes. There were properties that had Anne Frank been living in - she would have turned herself in to the Germans! At least they knew what a shower was (a bad taste joke I know but had u seen the "house" u would deem it understandable!) It had mould on the walls and a carpet that was so black it could have been covered in anything! Probably semen and blood! And as we looked around it was met by a beautiful sound scape of barking dogs which I can only imagine later turned into screaming babies and police sirens!!
But - finally there was light at the end of the tunnel!! We found a lovely flat and our offer was accepted!! Hooray!! However, it's a 3 bedroom flat and we don't yet have a flat mate to join us there!! So unless we find someone soon, I shall be applying for a job in Stringfellows to keep the rent up!!
But we have a place to live that doesn't smell of piss and thats all that matters!!
Zumba is still going well!! I delivered 1,000 leaflets through letter boxes by myself in the rain and snow and got a few more people interested. So it was worth it. It's always a difficult one walking in the snow. I sometimes think it would be more dignified to just go for it, even if I slip and fall it's probably still more elegant than shuffling around tentatively looking like you've just dropped a load in your pants!
Also - Picked up some more classes in Clapham South as well so that's excitin!!
Other highlights have been theatre trips!! I went and saw midnight tango on press night and saw lots of celebrities like Lulu, Arlene Phillips, Louis Spence, Holly Valance and good old Pamela Stephenson who I only noticed because I looked down and thought 'Who the fuck is that with her baps falling out?' - so much that I nearly caught a bit of nipple! But it was fabulous!!
And then - I saw Singing in the Rain the Musical which was AMAZING!!! Theatre like that makes me ridiculously happy - you must all go watch it!! After watching the show (and also seeing 'The Artist' at the cinema which was also amazing) I am now on the hunt for a 1920's cloche hat!! I want to pretend for a second I am quite lady like!! And then I will probably burp or say 'cunt' and the whole illusion will be ruined!! :(
Auditions are still pretty much non existent as they keep asking for dancers 5'6 and above and despite the amount of time I spend on Ebay I haven't yet come across a growing potion!! Scientist are soooo lazy and I believe responsible for the amount of unemployment in the perf. arts industry!
Marrakesh holiday is getting exciting as we've now booked to go camel riding and sand boarding!! Actually can't wait!! In need of some sun, sea and sahara dessert!!
Well - I think that's all folks!!
Thanks for reading!!
Nighty Night!! xxx
